PBI competition
« on: January 24, 2019, 09:12:47 AM »
Miles is bringing along an Arnhem mega experience later in the year.
I quite fancied some good old 4x4 PBI action.
How about ether late March or early Aril 2019.
Needs a minimum of 4.

A theme could be added.
Airborne
1940
Far east
Russia
Fall of the Reich

Any of these grab the imagination.  Ae you up for a PBI day.  Probably at Entoyment Poole  Saturday.  Unless a Sunday is better.

Likewise - I'd love to join in but that's a tricky time of year with Easter holidays, etc.

Far East theme would be good, more infantry less tanks, 14th army, USMC and Japs + Mike’s Dutch.

Please put me down as a maybe, too far away to make definite arrangements.
But this would be a replacement for 'Fisticuffs', so maybe.

Yes Stewart Far East theme would be good.

You also have Australians, Indians, Chinese, Russians as well.

Maybe we can have a team score of allies versus axis. I can field 14th army or Japanese.  Next we need a date. May 4th(might be astar wars day at Entoyment?), 18th or 25th?

Just to add interest I have an Indian based British force and a Japanese force.

Both are in the true scale 54mm. I usual play on a 200 mm square.

If everyone wants to do PBI Day this year ? Then we can arrange it. Which Weekend in May then ? I better put that to Les first if h wants to join in ?
If people want to do a "Far East" ? I ll be able to do an Indian/Burma based Commonwealth force. Slight change to my 1943 army .

I would like to do a "Fall of the Reich" towards the end of the year and into next year ?
I know we have tabled a "1940" games day next year as well.
As Martin wants more RFCM Games Days. I think we can get these organised.
As long as we can get 6-10 people to each of these events ??? On Average.

OK Les. You are front and centre!
Pick a May weekend. Not 11th as it is Exeter show.

Thanks

Would it be asking too much to hold it on the 12th?

Not many would attend both?

Not a problem Les. You are doing the big travelling. i will not be around on the 11th though because i am down at Exeter show. back abut 8pm.
Just see if you can get ferry etc and we will go firm on 11th.  I will contact Entoymnet once you confirm.

Anyone else Ok for that date?  Sean might be ministering on that day?

Far east .  We can use Vietnam scenery if that helps.  Turn up the heating and have lots of halogen lighting.  immersive?

Hello Les

If your 54mm uses 8" squares; that gives a  table 5 feet and a bit , square.
Is it easy to bring over in your motor car?  if so that wold be  areal high light. problem is , the volume of stuff for you to carry. i have a bit of 54mm scenery but not a lot.
A great 2 v 2 game and ideal for a magazine article for WSS?

As Martin says. This would be instead of Fisticuffs. As Stewart cant do April, sometime in May it is !
So Seriously what weekend can you come over for Les ?
Then we can see what everyone else is doing ? The 11th is out because of
Exeter.
Far East. Anytime period ? My force would probaly be 1943/4.

Martin I would come over to go to Exeter as well, so the PBI would be on the Sunday if possible?
