Figures for game 1
« on: November 28, 2018, 09:50:09 PM »
Hope to have the figure pack for game 1 out by 11th December.
First game will be pistol duelists.  8x4 inch table.  Short, clever and bloody ( I hope).

Are these new figures, or a selection of existing ones, or a closely-guarded Piggy secret....?

Not really sure. But the time for issue 1 is getting closer.  I think 1 original figure, (the shooter) and the rest from existing ranges with a couple of spare heads.
The shooter figure could also be used as a pirate too.
The pack would go on the PP website somewhere.
I expect that only 10 packs would ever be made because we don't want to go back and forth, fiddling about with odds and ends.
For rarity, these packs could be numbered 1-10 thus giving them collector potential???

The table size is going to be 8x4 inches.
The rules are 37% done.
There will be very limited play testing in order to maintain surprise and intrigue.
The rules will be playable but open to feedback via the 15 Mill. Hopefully there will be player pictures and suggestions for updates etc??

I am 110% behind this idea. I think 110% backing is achievable?

That is not many packs and many of us will probably be disappointed if we do not get them.

11 packs is typically 33 individual sculpts. Maybe 1 day per sculpt (I'm guessing). At minimum wage and assuming an 8 hour working day that's over £2,000 of wages or equivalent for the time invested. Even if you could sculpt 2 figures in a day that's still over £1000. You'd need to sell close on 300 packs to recoup the cost of sculpting time alone. And that's at minimum wage.

No wonder there are so many millionaires in the Wargaming business 😁

Sadly i think 10 is about the amount that will sell. However we will make as many as needed for this first edition as I have no idea how many will sell.  I have had many great ideas that sold very poorly.

Isn't that the reason for trying to promote 15mm?
If you are going to print a few off go in local outlets to get people interested will the figures be available as part of the deal, it could help justification for a small charge. Say the same as a pack of figures would be?
If you want them painted to include some colour photographs in the magazine i would be willing to help out if you like. Just give me a shout.

Thanks Duncan.

The idea is that the "special pack" is made available on the PP website.
It will be advertised as  complimentary to issue 1 of the mill.
This should(?) encourage gamers to buy and paint the figures in anticipation of the rules.
It may take a few Mill issues before folk understand the concept.
So the figures will be out mid- December (in time for Christmas 2018).
The rules will be in issue 1 of the  Mill out in January 2019.
Then in March a new figure pack comes out in advance of issue 2 etc.

As i said, it will take quite a while for some gamers to understand the concept. I believe it is worth a try and never been done before!
