Looking good Sean. Fingers crossed for today!

And do get some sleep before that long drive down South...

Quick update. All done apart from flesh and some grass tufts. After the weekend I'll finish off some smaller details but for the purpose of gaming with a painted army they will pass muster.

And done.

There are some bits I'll go back to like the horses who need their reigns doing and some socks and makes sorting out. But they're definatley table top standard.

Goes to show what you can do when you set your mind to it.

Forgot to add they're a bit shiny as the varnish is still wet.

Picked up 10 packs of natives and 11 buildings at lunchtime today for a native village for POE.
All painted based and first coat of varnish, hope to put 2nd coat on tomorrow lunchtime then ready for games tomorrow night.

Painted these a few weeks ago and still not got around to matt varnishing them. These are all the Indians I need for any of the historical scenarios in the Washingtons Army rule book.

They are nice, Sean!

Did you find a good reference source to use for colours? I've been struggling - particular for body paint...

To be honest as I get older I am getting less fussy about my painting. I often go for the minimum number of colours and minimum effort to get them done. Whilst wanting to keep true to history, I'm not afraid of going for an 'impressionistic' approach that looks right but might stray from true historical accuracy. My English Civil War collection all carry made up flags based on the real thing. My regiments are led by fictional characters.

With these Indians I used Kev Lowth's excellent website as reference, link here:
http://www.fat-wally.com/CollAWIBrits.html

I also make use of Google Images looking for 25/28mm painted figures as well as the likes of any relevant  Trioani paintings. I do have the Blandford which is great but I dont slavishly follow it.

This approach suits me. I consider myself a gamer, not a modeller. I do like my figures to be painted nicely, based nice and to fight over nice scenery but if I can achieve that.by cheating and cutting corners then I'll do that just to get the figures to the table and playing the game quicker.
