General discussion / Re: Rating ease of painting - by PP range?
« on: June 11, 2018, 01:38:58 PM »
I would say there are certain factors that add to the complexity.
1. How accurate and detailed you want your figures.
2. How ďin to the periodĒ you are.
3. Your painting skill.
4. Your eye sight.
5. Complexity of the uniform you are trying to recorate.

General discussion / Re: Rating RFCM rules RRR
« on: June 11, 2018, 01:27:24 PM »
On the whole PBI is the most complex but not necessarily difficult. When we have put PBI on at shows new gamers within 1/2hour have mastered motivation, moving and shooting.
As I said the period is complex not the Rules.
PITS on the their hand is very simple and my favourite game, British march up the table and get attacked, not a lot of weapons to remember.
My least liked is AK47 not because th rules are complex I just donít enjoy the period.
I think Most of the rule  sets by Peter Pig are easy to pick up and sort of remember as our last CWB day proved as we had 4 games being played all with slight variations!
In summery I think if you like the period you will find the rules easy because you will play it more and come to understand the mechanisms.

I like lots of figure so as the play test progresses those Pirates that donít measure up end up in the sales line and I am left with a core of successful veteran Pirates.

My mat is a nice blue (like my eyes) with complete  9 x 16 , 6 sided squares 4Ē side to side.

Well I have based 270 Pirates & guns so if I donít use 90% of them then the new rules are not complete

Captain      Single figure
1st maitre/quarter master. 2 figures
Pirate with treasure   1 figure x 1
Swivel gun. 2 figures x 3
Musicians. 2 figures x 1
Canon +3 crew x 3
Crew (various wpns) 3 figures x 7

civys
Govener 1 figure x 1
