Atlantic Models

Photo etched details. 1/500 scale.

Not too sure, time will tell to see how robust they will be. I am hoping the sails will take most of the strain. As you know I had already braced the masts and sails with wire already.

I am liking the use for the larger ships. Because we need to be able to filed all of the ships in the range. Yes i get that if you have large ships you can only have one or two compared with having smaller ships which you have a lot more of.
Same as any game you field "veteran " units you have  less than fielding hoards of " militia" units, this Game warfare.
Once i ve painted up my "Larger" ships i will do a load of 2 mast sloops and brigs.
But i ve just added to my Large collection one of Luis Spanish Galleon's and the Revell one too..

Terrain and Figures / Re: Head Swaps

I always find after drilling the hole and dry fitting the head etc. I put a bit of Squadron (green filler) into the hole as it mixes up with super glue quite nicely.  I'am talking a little dab of filler, the very tip of an old knife blade, or the tip of a cocktail stick. Makes the super bond easier as well. Also liquid cement brushed over after fills in the neck area. Its a good way to clean the excess super glue and filler.
Put a very very small tilt to the head as well, it added character to your figure.

You missed the bit about AFV's not figures. I never mentioned figures in my previous piece. Must admit though a lot of 15mm TANKS and A/C i do usually replace the barrel with metal tubes. Where 15mm barrels can be so delicate, they might look good but as a wargamming piece, not so good.
This is the problem. Having a model as a model. Plastic everytime. But as a Wargaming piece metal is a lot sturdy and hard wearing to handle.
To be honest i just love when someone casts an AFV and figures of a particular period, saves me having to convert it, to get what i need.
What you forgot to mention about figures and maybe this is there problem, is actually the manufacturing process. How to mould them etc (plastic) yes these can be more detailed but at the expense of being more delicate, but they do seem flatter, maybe to fit into the mould.

Well the Modeller in me loves plastic AFV's so much easier to convert. I personally don't get this about they don't weigh as much ? Or i like to feel the chunky metal ? Maybe as i was brought up on Airfix and Matchbox tanks ? I work with the medium i have in front of me period. But like i said plastic is easier to work with,I am just stating a fact !

I was hoping we might have 10-12 people hopefully ? Meaning 5-6 tables for the event. With the added bonus of the Bring and Buy there as well !
Is 10 per head an acceptable charge ? As there won't be car park charges involved now !
So remember this years theme 1943
As it is 75th anniversary of that year and it was quite pivotal year for the War.  So hopefully loads of different armies.
