The 15 Mill / Re: Edition 3 is out now

The file is 15mb so I expect that is the problem. A lot of sites and sites on route between the source and destination will not allow files of this size to be transmitted.

Great looking plane, this was the one you used print on demand to supply.

Who did you go to in the end, and what scale to you ask the print to be made at?

A game of BB47 today.
We took the smallest army with cavalry and the largest army but with two guns and no cavalry.
So the defender had 3 household foot, 5 retinue foot, 2 levy foot, 2 household cavalry.
The attacker had 1 household foot, 6 retinue foot, 10 levy, 2 light guns.
Game took 2 hours and lasted for 6 turns.  Result defender 15 points, attacker 51 points.
The defender lost 12 half bases and 2 units off table. The piggy chase put the defender at level 1.
Scenery.
Attacker. empty
Wood, empty, empty, gentle hill.
Empty, empty, wood, empty.
Empty, empty, empty, marsh.
Empty, gently hill, buildings, rough hill.
Defender edge.
No scenery movement.
We had a good game but again the small army ran out of bases.
We had some questions.
Cavalry charge a zone that contains only guns.  Does the charge stop n the gun zone?
Conclusions.
Generals worked well, none died, attached most of the game by the attacker, made 3 units of retinue into household, did not use 'trying hard' we just forgot as its not on the play sheet.
We had a general advance by the attacker, the cavalry never charged.
The defender never managed to get off the mark. The game lasted 6 turns, countdown down to 15.  So the defender  was beaten back and some units pushed off table. Again the defender just ran out of bases.
At present for our play testing we have chosen the most bases and the fewest bases. To see how the game goes.

I also visited this battle site on the way back from Omaha beach.

The Battle of Formigny, fought on 15 April 1450, was a major battle of the Hundred Years' War between England and France. The destruction of England's last army in Normandy in the battle and the decisive French victory paved the way for the capture of the remaining English strongholds in Normandy.

Yes and today just down with my daughter and watch an interesting convoy go down the road outside her front door, first low-loader had a camouflaged Panther on it, the second low- loader had a M10 tank destroyer on it, and the third to go by had a camouflaged Panzer 4 with all the armour extras. These were the passing tanks.

Went over to the museum and they had them running around in the mud. A bit like Bovington twenty years ago before health and safety caught up with them.

Who ever came round were just very pleased to see the WW2 battles for the relief of Europe being portrayed.

Some more pictures of the commemorations https://www.facebook.com/pg/NormandyVictory/photos/?ref=page_internal

Hope you had lots of interest and support for the games and the commemorations.

Spent the day with my local club in Carentan displaying wargames to the visitors to the town.

We put on two games, one was a 6mm game of the Carentan area with the Para's and the German defenders in the flooded marshes and the other a 28mm Omaha beach landing.

Had lots of people through the doors. Varied from a couple of very old american WW2 para veterans of 98 and 102. The younger was in a wheel chair with the other helping him. We have seen families, serving US para's, and lots of reenactors. Even some men from germany dressed as 101st para's.

Looks good, but the flock is too long for figures so small.
Have you tried any of these?

For me the figure size is hard to use, must be an age thing!!

Another game of BB46 today.
We took the smallest army with cavalry and the largest army but with out the gun and cavalry, waste of hard-earned points.
So the defender had 3 household foot, 5 retinue foot, 2 household cavalry, 13 units.
The attacker had 1 household foot, 8 retinue foot, 8 levy.
Game took 2 hours and lasted for 8 turns.  Result defender 19 points, attacker 35 points.
Attacker generals' CinC target, unreliable, morale. Sub general 1, assaulter,  target. Sub general 2 target.
Defender generals CinC, assault,  unreliable. Sub general 1 nothing. Sub general 2, assault, target.
The defender lost 5 half bases and 2 units off table.
Scenery.
Attacker.
Wood, empty, empty, empty.
Empty, wood, marsh, empty.
Gentle hill, empty, gently hill, empty.
Empty, buildings, empty, empty.
Defender edge.
Attacker moved the marsh from the corner, defender moved the buildings from the corner.
Piggy chase, 31 - 33.
We had a good game but again the small army ran out of bases.
We had some questions.
In Scenario A It states 'add an attribute to any general' - can this be to an opponent's general?
If you declare you are 'within scenery' and can a unit in the ward leave?
If you have a morale fail '1' or '2' can you 'still pullin'?
There are also a couple of errors between the play sheet and the main rules.
 Conclusions.
Generals worked well, a none died, attached several times, did not use 'trying hard', we just forgot as its not on the playsheet.
We had a general advance by both sides, the cavalry charged a zone with three units in it, the ward was pushed  back in the fight. The cavalry was destroyed.
Both sides assaulted, with usually the defender winning as there were more bases in his army and new strong levy could be brought up to relieve units suffering casualties. So the defender  was beaten back and some units pushed off table.  We did not reach the 14 dice cap but several times we did get to the minimum of 5 dice cap.
