Post by: Sean Clark on February 06, 2019, 11:00:03 PM
Can someone post a nice picture of their figures to cheer me?

Well, Sean, since you asked so nicely (and sorry the photo's a bit rushed as I've literally just finished them tonight) here is my first batch of German Late War figures.

I've done all the anti-tank troops first: square bases for the Panzerschreck platoon bases (colour-coded on the back edge); round bases for the tank-hunter asset markers and some of those nice Warbases counters (one per platoon - I have some spares) as off-table counters to keep track of Panzerfaust usage.

I've gone for a so-subtle-you-might-miss-it 3-tone flocking: yellow-green, light-green and mid-green from modelshop-co.uk, as recommended by Les (thanks!). These are much shorter fibres than the usual 2mm ones and tricky to handle. Until I found an old Vallejo paint bottle and used that as a "puffer", which worked really well. It's not that obvious from my rubbish photo, but this does give a little variation of colour (I had about 4 patches of each of these 3 colours per base) without looking too weird. I hope!

I was quite pleased with the 3-tone camo ponchos, so here's a bit of a close-up:

Looks like Sean got bitten by a member of the congregation or that sharp font edge hid some germs?
All this great stuff coming out. Well placed.
Just sit back and enjoy writing an appropriate sermon on Lazarus.

Thank you chaps. Really cheered me up. I'm nearly 24 hours in of the IV. Probably finish IV's tomorrow and then home. Feel quite a bit better!

Hope you get well soon !

Good job it wasn't a V or VI, not sure I could of beaten it off with a catheter bag and a walking stick.

A V1 would have been quite nasty too...

Not as nasty as a V2, at least you have a chance to flip a V1 with a Spitfire wing.

I prescribe a glass or two of Calva! Get well soon, mate.

The calva was shared around the table on New Years Eve at the stroke of midnight. Couldn't think of a better way to see in the new year!

Sean how are you doing?

Lisa brought some of your unpainted armies out for you to finish?

Yes recovered Les thank you. Was a bit wobbly for a few days but fine now. Digesting the new Bloody Barons at the moment.
